A basic driving simulator cockpit chassis is essential for proper placement of the seat, wheel, and pedals. A basic sim-racing cockpit may be limited to the primary controls, but many will have the ability to add a sim-racing shifter mount and a TV stand to it. The basic simulator cockpit chassis, sometimes known as gaming chairs, are often lightweight and compact so they can be easily moved when not in use. Other racing simulator cockpit chassis, like the AP-Xtreme Mobile, are designed to be portable and easily transported to the track on race day.
