Palm Beach County Students Lead a New Era of Fundraising with Virtual Grand Prix
Palm Beach County, FL — Palm Beach County has long been known for its generosity and commitment to giving back. From charity golf tournaments to black-tie galas, the community has supported countless causes over the years. This winter, a new kind of fundraiser is arriving—one created by students, built for this generation, and designed to engage the students of today and the community in a fresh, meaningful way.

Score for a Cure: The Ferrari F1 Virtual Grand Prix is a first-of-its-kind community fundraising event created as part of the Blood Cancer United Student Visionaries campaign. Score for a Cure is one of 24 teams in Palm Beach County working toward the shared goal of raising critical funds to support patients, families, and research.

The initiative is led by students from Score Academy, a small private school known for its individualized, one-on-one approach to education. Through this program, Score Academy is bringing big opportunities to its students—connecting them to real-world experiences, leadership development, and community impact.

Team co-captains Zoe Lefkowitz and Sheyn Lowenstein, who have known each other since middle school, are leading the effort. Both students experienced personal health challenges that brought them to Score Academy, where flexible learning and individualized attention allowed them to thrive. Those experiences have shaped their desire to support other children facing health challenges and to help in any way they can.

Unlike traditional fundraisers, the Ferrari F1 Virtual Grand Prix is built to engage the students and community - culminating in a live Ferrari F1 virtual racing event. Participants—students, adults, and corporate teams—enter through sponsored race entries, blending competition, technology, and purpose into a high-energy community experience.

The involvement of Ferrari of Palm Beach reflects a commitment to investing in the future of the next generation. Ferrari of Palm Beach’s participation elevates the experience and underscores the importance of innovation, leadership, and youth engagement in philanthropy.

Local businesses have also stepped forward to support the initiative, including the simulator company Ricmotech, Salute Market, Desano Pizza and Creative Financial Network, demonstrating the strength of community collaboration behind the event.

The preliminary Ferrari F1 Virtual Grand Prix race will take place on February 5, with the Top 10 racers advancing to the Finals on February 25. The overall winner will receive two tickets to attend the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.
