The Tripp-Lite 8-Outlet Eco-Surge Protector (TRI-TLP808NETG) is perfect for controlling power to simulator components. Plug the simulator computer into the main outlet and plug the other devices to the switched outlets and they will be shut down when the computer is turned off. This insures there are no components powered when they are not needed.

Many sim components have internal power supplies and fans that may continuously draw power when the system is off. This surge protector protects against voltage spikes and prevents parasitic power consumption.
